Personal data (usually referred to just as „data“ below) will only be processed by us to the extent necessary and for the purpose of providing a functional and user-friendly website, including its contents, and the services offered there.

Per Art. 4 No. 1 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679, i.e. the General Data Protection Regulation (hereinafter referred to as the „GDPR“), „processing“ refers to any operation or set of operations such as collection, recording, organization, structuring, storage, adaptation, alteration, retrieval, consultation, use, disclosure by transmission, dissemination, or otherwise making available, alignment, or combination, restriction, erasure, or destruction performed on personal data, whether by automated means or not.

The following privacy policy is intended to inform you in particular about the type, scope, purpose, duration, and legal basis for the processing of such data either under our own control or in conjunction with others. We also inform you below about the third-party components we use to optimize our website and improve the user experience which may result in said third parties also processing data they collect and control.

II. The rights of users and data subjects

With regard to the data processing to be described in more detail below, users and data subjects have the right

• to confirmation of whether data concerning them is being processed, information about the data being processed, further information about the nature of the data processing, and copies of the data (cf. also Art. 15 GDPR);
• to correct or complete incorrect or incomplete data (cf. also Art. 16 GDPR);
• to the immediate deletion of data concerning them (cf. also Art. 17 DSGVO), or, alternatively, if further processing is necessary as stipulated in Art. 17 Para. 3 GDPR, to restrict said processing per Art. 18 GDPR;
• to receive copies of the data concerning them and/or provided by them and to have the same transmitted to other providers/controllers (cf. also Art. 20 GDPR);
• to file complaints with the supervisory authority if they believe that data concerning them is being processed by the controller in breach of data protection provisions (see also Art. 77 GDPR).

In addition, the controller is obliged to inform all recipients to whom it discloses data of any such corrections, deletions, or restrictions placed on processing the same per Art. 16, 17 Para. 1, 18 GDPR. However, this obligation does not apply if such notification is impossible or involves a disproportionate effort. Nevertheless, users have a right to information about these recipients.

Likewise, under Art. 21 GDPR, users and data subjects have the right to object to the controller’s future processing of their data pursuant to Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. f) GDPR. In particular, an objection to data processing for the purpose of direct advertising is permissible.

Your data processed when using our website will be deleted or blocked as soon as the purpose for its storage ceases to apply, provided the deletion of the same is not in breach of any statutory storage obligations or unless otherwise stipulated below.

Hosting (IONOS)

This website is hosted by IONOS SE, Elgendorfer Str. 57, 56410 Montabaur, Germany. When you visit our website, the server automatically records information in so-called server log files that your browser transmits, such as browser type and version, operating system, referrer URL, host name of the accessing computer, time of the server request and IP address. This data is not merged with other data sources. Processing is necessary to ensure the secure and stable operation of the website. The legal basis is Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. f) GDPR; our legitimate interest lies in the technically error-free presentation and security of our website. We have concluded a data processing agreement with IONOS pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR.

Cloudflare

We use the content delivery network and security services of Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St., San Francisco, CA 94107, USA (“Cloudflare”). Requests to our website are routed through Cloudflare's servers in order to deliver the website quickly and securely and to protect it against attacks. In doing so, Cloudflare processes technical data such as your IP address, browser information and the time of access, and may set technically necessary cookies (e.g. “__cf_bm”) to distinguish legitimate visitors from bots. Data may be transferred to the USA. Cloudflare is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework; in addition, standard contractual clauses have been concluded. The legal basis is Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. f) GDPR; our legitimate interest lies in the secure and efficient provision of our website. Fonts

The fonts used on this website are hosted locally on our own web server. No connection to servers of third parties (e.g. Google Fonts or Adobe Fonts) is established when the fonts are loaded.

Cookies

Our website itself does not use tracking or advertising cookies. Only technically necessary cookies may be stored (e.g. by Cloudflare, see above). The legal basis is Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. f) GDPR and § 25 Para. 2 No. 2 TDDDG. You can refuse or delete cookies via the settings of your browser; if you do so, not all functions of our website may be fully usable.

Contact form and email

If you contact us via the contact form or by email, the data you provide (name, email address, message) will be used for the purpose of processing your request. The form data is transmitted to us by email via our hosting provider. Messages sent via the contact form are delivered to our e-mail inbox hosted by Apple (iCloud Mail, Apple Distribution International Ltd., Ireland). A transfer of data to Apple Inc. in the USA cannot be ruled out; it is based on the EU standard contractual clauses. Further information: https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/en-ww/. We need this data in order to process and answer your inquiry; otherwise we will not be able to answer it in full or at all. The legal basis for this data processing is Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. b) GDPR, otherwise Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. f) GDPR. Your data will be deleted once we have fully answered your inquiry and there is no further legal obligation to store your data.

Spam protection (Cloudflare Turnstile)

To protect our contact form against spam and automated abuse, we use Cloudflare Turnstile on the contact page, a service of Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St., San Francisco, CA 94107, USA. When the contact page is loaded, Turnstile processes your IP address and technical information about your browser and device (e.g. browser type, settings, and interaction signals) to distinguish humans from bots. Turnstile does not set cookies for tracking or advertising purposes. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in protecting our website and contact form against abuse (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR); access to information on your device is strictly necessary to provide the contact form you requested (Section 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG). Cloudflare acts as our processor; insofar as Cloudflare uses the data to improve its bot detection, it acts as an independent controller. Data may be transferred to the USA; Cloudflare is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, and standard contractual clauses have additionally been concluded.
